The 1st Annual Parade and Field Championships

The Northern California Band Association was established in 1990-91 by directors in Northern California to provide an organization that could judge the many diverse marching competitions that were being run by independent organizations. The goal was to provide consistency and a slate of judges.

Since that time, the organization has grown to almost 200 members and now oversees:

  • NCBA All Northern Honor Band
  • NCBA Concert Festivals
  • NCBA Jazz Festivals
  • NCBA Winter Guard/ Percussion Competition Circuits
  • NCBA Winter Circuit Championships
  • NCBA Fall Clinic
  • NCBA Solo Drum Major Competitions

NCBA continues to provide judging for over 20 fall and spring band competitions in Northern/Central California and Northern Nevada. These competitions may include field, street, concert, jazz, and percussion venues.
